Clogga Strand

Clogga Bass

Follow the Wexford road out of Arklow. Take the first left after the Servier Factory and follow the beach signs. At the end of a narrow lane is the beach car park. Standing at the top of the cliff one can view the strand sweeping north/south from Roadstone pier to Clogga point. Follow the tarmac path down to the beach which is sandy and shallow. The point to the right (about a ten minute walk), is a fine place to lure fish for Bass. There is a strong tidal current here. A low rock platform pushes about fifty meters out into the sea deflecting the tide. Beside this rock platform to the south is a small shingle beach. Bait fishing has produced Dogfish and small Codling.
