A licence is not required in Ireland to fish for brown trout, however a permit is required to fish certain private and club waters. These range in price from €5.00 – €20.00 on average.

A state licence is required to fish for salmon and sea trout. Anglers can obtain their licence from Inland Fisheries Ireland, any rod licence distributor, or online at www.salmonlicences.ie.

Permits and or state licence are extra and can be arranged in advance with the cost added to the final bill.
